Privacy and trust

Your choices deserve respect.

Sensitive tools need clear explanations, not sweeping promises. Here is what the product is designed to do and what you should check.

A local filtering mechanism is not anonymous browsing

Smart Boundaries uses the Android VPN framework to support DNS-level filtering on the device. This description alone does not establish whether traffic is encrypted, which diagnostic information is recorded or whether any service provider receives information. Do not interpret “local VPN” as a blanket promise of anonymity.

Outreach is your decision

The trusted-person feature does not automatically send messages. You choose whether to contact someone and what you want to say.

Understand permissions before accepting them

Read the Android permission prompts. VPN and notification permissions serve different purposes. If you are unsure why a request appears, check the setup and troubleshooting guides before proceeding.

Understand the scope of these explanations

This page explains product concepts; it is not a legal privacy policy or a complete account of app data handling. Do not infer encryption, anonymity, data retention or deletion practices from a description of local filtering.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Clear answers help you make a choice that suits you.

Does the local VPN hide my IP address?

A VPN interface used for local DNS filtering does not, by itself, mean your IP is hidden or your browsing is anonymous.

Does UrgeHarbor automatically message my trusted person?

No. You choose whether to reach out.
