Check whether the Android VPN service is active
Open your phone’s VPN settings and inspect which service Android says is connected. If the VPN is inactive or another service is selected, follow the in-app setup and permission prompts. Do not infer protection from a single label in the app.

Look for a competing VPN or DNS configuration
Other VPN apps, work profiles, network-level filters and private DNS choices may affect routing. Take note of your current settings before changing them, so you can restore your normal configuration if necessary.

Understand what is not a domain block
A DNS filter classifies domain names; it may not block every item served inside a large platform. It cannot reliably promise that every video, image or in-app experience is filtered.

Restart carefully if a connection changes
Follow the phone’s standard VPN settings and the app’s own steps. If filtering behavior and on-screen status disagree, treat that as a reason to investigate rather than assuming it is safe to rely on.

Record the general symptom of a persistent problem
If a problem persists, note your Android version, device model and the general symptom. Avoid including private browsing details. If filtering interferes with connectivity, use Android settings to disconnect the local VPN and restore normal access.

Why are some adult pages not blocked?
Domain-based filters do not classify every item on the internet. In-app content and mixed-content websites can also be difficult to filter this way.
Does Android VPN filtering encrypt all my traffic?
A local VPN implementation does not prove encryption or anonymity. Those are separate technical properties.
